Terms of Service

Last updated

These terms are an agreement between you and Anyknown ("we", "us") and cover your Anyknown account and everything you use with it: the Anyknown app on the web, desktop, mobile and command line, the Anyknown API, and pages you publish on anyknown.app. By creating an account or using the service you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. The service

Anyknown gives you one ongoing conversation with an AI agent, called your thread, that carries a memory across your devices. The agent can work on your behalf: it can use a cloud computer we run for you, call the services you connect to it, keep and organize files, start background runs, and publish pages.

The service is under active development. We add, change and remove features, and we may limit or pause parts of it while we do. Access may be by invitation from our waitlist.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract to use Anyknown. If you use it on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for that organization.

Give us accurate account information and keep it current. You are responsible for your password, sign-in methods, two-factor codes, and the API keys you create. Anything done through your account or your API keys is treated as done by you. Tell us right away at privacy@anyknown.com if you think your account has been compromised.

3. Models, provider keys and subscriptions

The agent runs on AI models from third-party providers, such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, Baseten, Fireworks and Cloudflare Workers AI, with other models reached through OpenRouter. You can use a model in one of three ways: with your own API key from that provider, with a subscription you hold with that provider through the provider's own software on your device, or with our platform key, paid from your Anyknown wallet.

When you use your own key or subscription, your use of that model is also governed by your agreement with the provider, and the provider bills you directly. You are responsible for complying with the provider's terms and usage policies. Which models are available, and from which providers, can change at any time.

4. Your content

You own what you put into Anyknown and what the agent produces for you: your messages, your memory, your files, your outlines, your pages and everything else you or the agent create in your account ("your content").

You give us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, copy, process, transmit and display your content only as needed to run the service for you, including sending it to the model and service providers you choose or that the service relies on, as described in the Privacy Policy. When you publish a page as unlisted or public, you also allow us to show it to anyone who has the link or finds it. This license ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep by law.

We do not use your content to train AI models. What we send to model providers and other service providers is handled under their own data policies, and, when you use your own key or subscription, under your agreement with that provider.

You are responsible for your content and for having the rights to everything you upload, connect or publish.

5. AI output and actions

AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and it can sound confident when it is not. Check it before you rely on it, and do not treat it as professional advice on legal, medical, financial or other matters where a mistake could cause harm.

The agent can act for you: it can browse websites, run code on its computer, change files, publish pages, and call services you connect, using the credentials you give it. You decide what it can reach, and you are responsible for what it does with that access on your behalf. Review important actions, and keep an eye on your usage.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use Anyknown, or let the agent be used, to:

  • break the law or infringe anyone's rights, including intellectual property and privacy rights;
  • create or share content that sexually exploits children, promotes violence or terrorism, or harasses or threatens people;
  • build malware, attack or probe systems you are not authorized to test, or get around security or access controls;
  • collect personal data in bulk, or process anyone's personal data without a lawful basis;
  • send spam or carry out fraud, phishing or impersonation;
  • break the usage policies of the model providers or of the services you connect;
  • overload, disrupt or reverse engineer the service, or resell it without our written permission.

7. Wallet and fees

Paid usage comes out of your wallet, a prepaid balance in US dollars. You add money through checkout run by our payment processor, Polar. Each model call made with our platform key is charged according to its token usage and our rate for that model, and time on a desktop computer is charged by the hour at the rate shown in the app. You can see your balance and spending in the app. Usage already in progress can take your balance below zero; you agree to pay that amount, and we may deduct it from your next top-up.

Unless the law requires otherwise, top-ups are not refundable. If we refund a payment, we remove the refunded amount from your wallet. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchases. If we change our rates, the new rate applies only to usage after the change.

Using your own provider key or subscription is not charged to your wallet.

8. Third-party services

The service connects to things we do not control: model providers, the services and servers you connect, and the websites the agent visits. Your use of them is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for their content, availability or actions.

9. Our rights

Anyknown, its software, design and brand belong to us and our licensors. These terms do not give you any right to them other than to use the service as described here. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.

10. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Anyknown at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account. The Privacy Policy explains what that deletes and what we keep.

We may suspend or close your account, or limit what it can do, if you break these terms, if your use puts the service, other users or third parties at risk, if your wallet stays unpaid, or if the law requires it. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

Sections 4, 5, 7, 9 and 11 to 14 survive the end of these terms.

11. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that AI output will be accurate, or that your data will never be lost; keep your own copies of anything important.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 100 US dollars. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your content, from your breach of these terms, or from actions you instructed the agent to take, and pay the resulting costs and damages.

14. General

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. If any part is unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a provision right away, we have not waived it. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

15. Changes to these terms

When we make a material change, we publish the new version with a new date, and you will be asked to accept it the next time you sign in. If you do not accept it, you can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account as described in the Privacy Policy.
